2011 - The playground is designed for Luma ID as a part of a project for the foundation Kids@Play. This playground is to be placed near a Vietnamese orphanage. As a class we split up to design all different kinds op objects for the children to play with. I choose to design a seesaw in combination with turning disk. This way the seesaw could also rotate around it’s axis. One of my main goals for this design was to provide a playing object to a big number of kids. This is because there are a lot of children living at the orphanage.
For this playground the portability was very importend. The idea is to create these playgrounds here in Holland and then ship them off the Vietnam, where they have to be assembled with a limited amount of tools. Because the playground is designed in different main parts it is easy to transport it and build it in challenging locations.
